To achieve reproductive health is an indispensable part of reproductive rights. The state of complete physical, mental and social well being and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity in all the matters relating to the reproductive system and its functions and processes is known as reproductive health. From birth through childhood and adulthood, girls and women need effective services and information to enable them to lead healthy productive lives. Boys and men also need information and services that contribute to responsible behavior and equal treatment of women and girls.
It is very important for the following reasons:
- It helps to reduce the rising, instances of teenage pregnancy and sexually transmitted diseases among young people.
- It encourages in increasing emphasis on the right to reproductive and sexual health that changes the way of family planning.
- Reproductive health education reduces domestic violence, rape and sexual abuse.
- It is the perquisite for social, economic and human development.
- It teaches both men and women about safer sex practices.
